Before you make an appointment here are a few things we want you to know….
This is a different type of general practice then you are likely used to attending. Dr. Dooley does not feel he can sort out many health issues in 15 minutes. As such, the minimum initial consultation is 30 minutes, and all visits are fee-for-service. As a NZ registered practitioner Dr. Dooley is operating as a private medical consultancy, outside the usual enrolment setting. Thus, he is not establishing himself as any person’s regular GP therefore patients need to retain their current GP enrolment.
How it works:
Initial consultations will be 30 minutes to an hour in duration followed by a summation letter. Our pre-paid fee for the 30-minute consult is $120 (+ GST) and for an hour consult is $180 (+GST) for adults. Please email us for our consult fees on children up to age 16 which are on a sliding fee scale. Rarely and on a case-by-case basis., there may be additional charges for answering long emails and phone questions.
Important: If you wish to reserve an initial full hour in our appointment calendar, please click on two 30-minute segments.
These fees do not include any supplements, medication or other procedures that may be recommended in his treatment plan. As this is not a standard GP clinic, government subsidies such as capitation fees, ACC, or Community Services Cards are not applicable. Specialist nurse consultations, intravenous therapies and other services are charged separately and vary according to the service, procedure and time taken.
